The Zonal Commissioner of Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Enugu, led members of his office, to pay a courtesy visit to the Management and Heads of Department/Unit of the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), Ituku/Ozalla, on the 24th of August, 2023.

While addressing the gathering, the Zonal Commissioner, Mr. Kennedy Eblilea commended the management for its effort in setting up the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit, (ACTU) UNTH, which according to him, is in tandem with the vision of the federal government to stamp out corruption in every unit of civil service in the country.
He pointed out that the key objectives of the commission are to investigate, prosecute and prevent offences of corruption.

While responding, the CMD, Prof Obinna Onodugo, expressed delight at the visit, stressing that his administration is at the fore front of the fight against corruption, knowing that if not so, the evil is capable of impeding service delivery, which is the hallmark of civil service.
He cited an example with its management’s habit of monitoring and supervising contracts in the hospital, to ensure compliance.
