The Management of the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Ituku/Ozalla, Enugu played host to the newly appointed Unit Commander, Ozalla FRSC Command, Assistant Corp Commander Odoh, and her entourage at the office of the Chief Medical Director.

In her address on the occasion, the Commander said that she is on a routine transfer from Delta State to Ozalla, and deemed it necessary to familiarize and strengthen ties with their partners in the business of caring for accident victims. And with UNTH as a key player, she scheduled the visit, which will help her to show appreciation to the kind gestures of the current Management, & to plead like Oliver Twist, “that more are still needed”
She also sought the approval of the Management for the Agency to carry out public awareness campaign, aimed at sensitizing the hospital’s driver on the various “road safety tips”
Furthermore, in recognition of UNTH as an Institution with multidisciplinary professionals, she offered an opportunity to the Management to appoint some vehicle owners who can be recruited into the “Special Marshal Service” of the Agency.

In his response, the Chief Medical Director, Prof Obinna Onodugo thanked the Unit Commander for her visit, & also congratulated her on the successful assumption of duty in her new station.
He reiterated the Management’s readiness to provide an enabling environment, & to partner with the command in the task of caring for the patients.
According to the CMD, this effort has been manifested in many ways, including upgrading of the Accident and Emergency into “Emergency Medicine Department”
