The College of Nursing Sciences, UNTH, has marked a significant milestone with the construction of a state-of-the-art Nursing Lab. The facility was commissioned yesterday, 20th Feb, 2026, by the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Obinna Onodugo, in a ceremony attended by the CMAC, Dr. Charles Nonyelu; the HNS, Lady Joy Unigwe; the registrar of the college, Dr. Mrs. Onyia; the Deputy Provost, Mrs. Lucy Anukwe; the HOD, Mrs. Ebere Chukwu; the Librarian, Lady Ebere Nze, HNS, Old site, Mrs. Ngozi Ugwuoke; and other dignitaries.

Prof. Mrs. Agnes Anarado, Provost of the College of Nursing Sciences, while introducing the project to the CMD, expressed her pride in the achievement, attributing it to the prudent management of resources and the cooperation of her staff. “This project was one of our top priorities, and we are thrilled to have it completed,” she said.

In his address, Prof. Onodugo praised the Provost and her team for their vision and dedication, encouraging other heads of departments and schools to emulate their example. “Your sacrifice and commitment to excellence are worthy of commendation. I urge others to follow your lead, and together, we can take UNTH to greater heights,” he said.

The Nursing Lab will serve as a hub for research and training, providing students with hands-on experience and equipping them with the skills needed to excel in their profession. The facility is located at the College of Nursing Sciences, UNTH old site, and is expected to enhance the college’s reputation as a center of excellence in nursing education.

The commissioning of the Nursing Lab is a testament to the college’s commitment to academic excellence and its dedication to producing highly skilled nursing professionals.
