FUNCTIONS OF THE WORKS DEPARTMENT
The Works Unit is basically responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the hospital’s infrastructure and utilities. These include:
- Power
- Water
- Transportation
- Roads
- Buildings
- Sewage
- Communication amongst others.
The Department is headed by a Deputy Director who is assisted by various unit heads. The units are: General maintenance, Mechanical, Electrical, Building, Civil, Estates, Lands, Transport, Instruments, Administration and the articulated vehicle unit.
Our activities are extended to the old site in Enugu, where the schools are currently located, the health centres at Obukpa, Abagana, Isuochi and the clinic at the Federal Secretariat Enugu.
