Yesterday, 14th May, 2025, the management of the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Ituku/Ozalla, Enugu, played host to Dr. Ray Osarogiagbon, a renowned expert in lung cancer and a prominent member of the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC). As one of the leading healthcare facilities in Nigeria, UNTH has established itself as a pioneer in the management of cancer cases, and this visit marked an exciting opportunity for potential collaboration.

Dr. Osarogiagbon’s visit began with a courtesy call on the Chief Medical Director of the UNTH, Prof. Obinna Onodugo, in his office, and thereafter, a comprehensive facility tour. As he walked through the state-of-the-art facilities, Dr. Osarogiagbon was impressed by the cutting-edge technology and innovative approaches employed in UNTH cancer diagnosis, treatment, and patient care.

Dr. Osarogiagbon engaged in thoughtful discussions with the hospital’s specialists, exploring areas of potential collaboration and knowledge sharing.

2. Research collaboration
3. Patient’s care

Dr. Osarogiagbon expressed his admiration for UNTH’s dedication to cancer care and research, emphasizing the potential for global collaboration to drive progress in lung cancer management. Our institution’s team shared their expertise and experiences, highlighting the importance of partnerships in advancing cancer care in Nigeria.
