The University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital Post Basic Perioperative Nursing School, yesterday, 4th October, 2024, marked the GRAND-FINALE of her Students Week.

The event, which was held at the Hospital’s Old Site, with the Theme PROFESSIONAL RELEVANCE: CHALLENGES BEFORE THE NURSING SCIENCES, was graced by distinguished personalities from various walks of life.

The Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC), Prof. Joy Eze, who represented the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Obinna Onodugo, in her remarks, assured the school of the Hospital Management’s utmost supports .
She also encouraged the students to be dedicated and impactful to the Hospital and the society at large.

The School Provost; Prof. Anarado , while Unveiling the Theme, noted that the theme is really apt and advised the students to make every effort, to ensure Professional Relevance in the course of their career.

The School Coordinator, Mrs. Chizoba Mbah, commented that healthcare landscape is evolving and advised the students & nurses in general to enhance their Professional Relevance through strong professional presence and commitment in their careers.
She also encouraged nurses to balance compassion, skills, credentials and politics.

Chairman of the Occasion; Comr. Innocent Ezema (Vice Chairman NANNM Enugu State) advised Perioperative nurses to be change agents and encouraged nurses to be politically active.

In a Lecture on the occasion, delivered by Mrs. Ukwuani Miriam, on the topic, PROFESSIONAL COMMITMENT AS A NURSE, the need for Commitment in the service to humanity was emphasized.

The UNTH Director of Administration, Mrs. Obi Uche, was represented by Mrs. Onyia Ngozi.

Highlights of the event were, Nurses Anthem, launching of the school Magazine “The Scrub”, School Calendar presentation, exhibition by the Students Cultural Troupe, Cutting of Cake, quiz and group photograph.
