QUANTUS MEDICAL FOUNDATION CONDUCTS A “CHANGE THE MANAGEMENT TRAINING” IN UNTH
The University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) recently hosted a Change Management Training organized by the Quantum Medical Foundation, USA, and WeCare Nigeria Initiative. The two-day training aimed to strengthen compassionate care, improve teamwork and communication, reduce delays in patient flow, support zero emergency patient refusal, and build a hospital culture centered on humanity and excellence.

The Chief Medical Director, Prof. Obinna Onodugo, emphasized the importance of change management in healthcare delivery, stating that everyone has a role to play in implementing change. The CEO of Quantus Medical Foundation, Dr. Nnenna Ihekoromadu, highlighted the organization’s goal of promoting compassionate care and improving staff knowledge of job descriptions and Standard Operating Procedures.

The training covered key areas, including:
– Compassionate Care: Protecting patient dignity and promoting empathy
– Teamwork and Communication: Enhancing collaboration among healthcare professionals
– Patient Flow: Reducing delays and improving efficiency
– Emergency Care: Supporting zero patient refusal and improving emergency response
– Hospital Culture: Fostering a culture of humanity and excellence

Emeritus Prof. Ifeoma Okoye stressed the importance of regular staff performance evaluation and creating a healthy work environment.
