UNTH MARKS 2024 WORLD DIABETES DAY

The Paediatric Endocrinology Unit of the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Ituku/Ozalla, Enugu, has joined the rest of the world to mark this year’s Diabetes Day.
As parts of the activities to mark the grand finale, the Unit led by Prof. Ugo Chikani, paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (C-MAC), Prof. Joy Eze, on November 15, 2024, in her office.

In her response, Prof. Eze expressed her gladness to the initiative of the Unit and pledge her support and solidarity to the Unit.
The Unit had organized a two-week program of activities to mark the special day. This includes a mini camp for children living with diabetes and being managed by the clinic with the view to create interactions and bonding with their care givers.

Highlights of the day include public awareness campaign and education team led by Prof. Chikani, Dr. Ijeoma Ohuche, Nurse Oge Emmanuel, House officers and Medical students, who were on ground to sensitive the hospital community on the existence of diabetes among children.
