The Management of the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Ituku/Ozalla, Enugu hosted representatives of the Commonwealth Partnership for Antimicrobial Stewardship.

The event which took place at the hospital’s Boardroom was attended by Prof. Joy Eze, Chairman Medical Advisory committee (CMAC), who represented the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Obinna Onodugo, members of the team, Pharm. Mashudu Oluku Lawan, In-country consultant for Commonwealth Pharmacists Association; Dr. Lukman Yahaya from Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Pharm. Estelle Mbadiwe, founder Distribute Solutions a company into Healthcare consultancy. She is also in-country Consultant Tropical Health Education Trust and Dr. Chinenye Onodugo, Deputy director Clinical Pharmacy UNTH Enugu and also the team lead of Commonwealth Partnerships for Antimicrobial stewardship.

The goal of the project is to help in straightening antimicrobial stewardship strategy, the strategies that helps make sure antibiotics stay longer and more effective during our lifetime.

The goal of the Project is to initiate funding to upgrade the equipment in quality control laboratory of the Institution.
