The Management of the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Ituku/Ozalla Enugu, today, 26th, August, 2024, received the Appraisal Team from the Fleming Foundation and the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control & Prevention (NCDC), who were on facility tour in the hospital.

While paying a Courtesy Call on the Management in the Office of the Chairman Medical Advisory, the C(MAC), Prof. Joy Eze, who represented the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Obinna Onodugo, the Team Lead, Prof. Comfort Akujiobi expressed delight at the warm reception accorded to her members and said “This Team is in UNTH to inspect the facilities on ground, reappraise and also improve the service delivery of the hospital to international standard”.
Continuing, she said that the team has earlier refurbished the Bacteriology Laboratory, conducted trainings, provided Consumables and Equipment to the hospital.

In her response, the C(MAC), Prof. Eze, while thanking the guests for their visit and supports, highlighted the importance of Laboratory Services, which the foundation is promoting, in the hospital and pledged on behalf of Management, to reciprocate the kind gestures.

Present during the event were, Prof. Uchenna Ozumba, the HOD Microbiology Dept., Dr Samuel Ebede, Asst. Prof. Ify Nwafia and others.

Earlier, UNTH NEWS ONLINE, gathered that the outcome of the visit by the team, will determine their next phase of sponsorship and that the team’s activity in UNTH will last for three days.
